Blossom Home Improvement is a husband-and-wife team serving homeowners across Westchester County. We started Blossom in 2025 with a simple goal: make home projects feel easy, honest, and well communicated from the first call to the final walkthrough.
Meet the owners
The people behind every project.
Rudy Van Tongeren
Co-owner and operator
Rudy brings more than 15 years of hands-on experience to every Blossom project. He owned and operated Blossom Nurseries in Yorktown Heights for 10 years, as well as 15 years as the property and maintenance manager at HVT realty, improving houses and apartments daily. With a Cornell University bachelor's degree in business, Rudy combines practical, business acumen with a sharp eye for quality and detail to every job. He oversees the crews and communicates directly with homeowners everyday to ensure quality from start to finish.
Marissa Van Tongeren
Co-owner and operator
Marissa spent the first 10 years of her career in corporate America, working in tech and software sales within the home service industry. She worked directly with the owners of flooring, kitchen, and bath businesses understanding where things sometimes fall short. She helped implement marketing, ERP, and CRM solutions that streamlined how they scale and run their business operations. Along the way, she saw the same frustration again and again from homeowners: unclear pricing, vague scopes of work, and contractors who didn't communicate well and follow through on what was promised. Marissa holds a bachelor's degree in Business Communications from Baruch College and brings that same focus on clear communication to every Blossom customer.

Between Rudy's decades of hands-on experience and Marissa's years inside the home service industry, they saw an opportunity to do things differently. Too many homeowners come away from a project feeling left in the dark, confused about pricing, or unsure if they were treated fairly. They took their experience and built Blossom around fixing that.
